To all:

The grande total, with some money still outstanding is ---- taaa daaa ---- Sixteen thousand, seven hundred, twenty eight dollars.

Thanks to everyone who participated in any way. What hard workers we have in this alliance!

The weather was beautiful, the bowls were colorful and nicely made and served to remind us of our mission to fill empty food bowls for hungry children in ou area.

We appreciate Lisa Conner who comes loaded with signs and posters that she has made to direct us around the campus and supply information about the event.

The report from the bowl painting table was that many children and young at heart tried their hands at glazing and I am sure, will be delighted with the results when they have been notified that the bowls are ready to picked up at FFA. We have to thank Tom Funke for coming up with that idea to have a bowl painting area, supplying the bowls, selling us supplies, at cost, for bowl painting and lending support to Nickolas Haar as she organized the painting area. Thanks, also, to Nickolas and all who worked with the registering, painting and wrapping.

The entertainment got good reviews. I understand that Garrett introduced knives to his juggling act. Ben was quite entertaining and amazing as he demonstrated his two time national award winning talent. The musicians helped keep the mood mellow and my one year old grandson got a quick lesson in dulcimer playing. People also enjoyed the clay demonstrations. Thanks to the demonstrators and Tom for the clay.

Thanks to the Kids Cafe and Free Store for once again working hard on getting volunteers to supply the food and all that goes with that. Thanks to all food volunteers.

Baker Hunt, as always, proved to be a lovely venue to hold Empty Bowls. Thanks to David and his staff who pitch in with the CA volunteers to set up early in the morning and cheerfully answer questions before the event.

The roses on the tables were so pretty. Thanks to the Iliffs for the contribution and George Ann Lawerence for the coordination of this lovely addition.

Thanks to the Vernon Manor for letting us borrow their table cloths and not making us launder them before we returned them.

The auction table was a success, of course, the seconds table was swamped and had the best year yet. Thanks to all involved.

The event could not happen without the generosity of all of our Clay Alliance members who contribute on all levels; bowls, ticket sales, seconds (someone suggested that we should make more seconds for next year, as they ran out early. That was a nice occasion for a giggle. I don`t think we ever intend to make seconds, they just sort of happen!) Not to forget the contributions for silent auction, great desserts from our members, which got good reviews; several people said they liked the variety.

What fun to see all of the good will toward one another as we come together to volunteer, as one body, to make our Empty Bowls event the success that it is.

Several people told me that their tickets sold themselves this year. Thanks to all who put forth the effort to sell tickets. We had some stellar sellers this year, one person sold ninety tickets with many others selling goo gobs. There   were well over Fourteen thousand dollars worth of tickets sold this year.

The third session bowls sales went well too. Thanks bowl room crew.

Thanks, Joyce Clancy and Linda Legendre for being such wonderful co-chairs.

Thanks, Clay Alliance members, for your endless generosity, it truly touches my heart.

Remember: Hunger in our Community is unacceptable.
