Empty Bowls is an
international movement to involve the pottery community in helping feed
the hungry. The Clay Alliance, in conjunction with Kids Cafe, a division of the Freestore/Foodbank
and the Baker-Hunt Foundation, will serve up bowls of food donated by
various local restaurants.
100% of the event's proceeds go directly to children who turn to local
Kids Cafe for nourishment.
We have been their biggest not-for-profit fund raiser for
the past 9 years and have raised over $105,000 enabling many children in
the Greater Cincinnati Area to eat a healthy meal. More information
about the national campaign can be viewed at
emptybowls.net.
There are three seatings: 11:00 am to 12:30 pm, 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm, and 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm. Patrons are entitled to pick out a bowl from the many hundreds of fine handmade bowls and are then served food in that bowl. After the meal, the bowls go home with their new owners. Kids Tickets return again this year and are only $5.00. Each kid's ticket is good for food only. Of course, you may purchase a regular ticket for your child if you want them to pick out and take home a bowl. |
